We performed a lab in class in which we allowed 4.5 molar sulfuric acid and
various types of rubber (eraser, glove, elastic band, etc.) to react for four
days. However, when we weighed the rinsed and dried pieces of rubber, we found
that the mass of just about all samples had increased, and they were completely
dry. My lab partener and I were hoping you could help, as we have no idea.
