CKMB and myoglobin are two different kinds of protiens found in heart muscle. CK stands for Creatine Kinase and the MB stands for myocardial b fraction. CK is found in other tissues but the MB subtype is specific for heart muscle. CKMB is an enzyme protein found in heaert muscle it has several diffrent functions. Most importantly it is a kinase and as such catalyzes the transfer of energy molecules to phosphate substrates.

When heart muscle is damaged from any cause the enzymes found inside the muscle cells leak out due to damage to the cell membranes. The CKMB also leaks out in times of damage of heart muscle.

When the levels of CKMB in blood are elevated more than normal then it is a measure of extent of heart muscle damage such as can occur in heart attacks.

Similarly the protein myoglobin is found in muscle cells. Not just heart muscle cells but all muscles. Its levels in urine and blood can be elevated when there has been damage to muscle cells from any cause. For normal levels you could look up any reference book in your country or region.

Thanks
