Underground excavation by blasting, tunnel boring machine, or roadheader 
machine cause fractures in rock (man-made fractures as opposed to natural 
fractures).  I am looking for information on studies, or professional papers 
describing characteristics of man-made fractures induced by various excavation 
methods.
