Why did various contries start out with different V/Hz systems? Which was 
decided first, frequency or voltage, and based on what criteria? Why does 
the US have appliance with plugs having rectangular pins while some 
countries have cylindrical ones (isn't lack of edges a positive attribute 
of a conductor?).
