My question is about the history of PTC
(phenylthiocarbamide)research. You see, PTC is a chemical that
depending on genetically passed traits, some people can taste while
others are fully incapable.
I would like to know who found out about it and how it acts upon the taste buds?
Also, how did somebody think to use this chemical to test this genetic trait?
Thank you.
