Dear Jason,

It's a long hard road to become a psychoanalyst, very expensive and not
one I'd personally recommend. I believe you can get better therapeutic
results in less than half the time by different and less antiquated
methods.
However, to answer your question, the Boston Graduate School of
Psychoanalysis bgsp@bgsp.edu offers a course of study over four
years. This course is to be taken together with having personal
psychonalysis yourself for (usually) six to eight years. I am not sure,
but the College's title seems to say you already have to be a graduate in
some other discipline before you can start with them. I surfed their site
to find out what, but the information given was not clear.
In Ireland you can become a psychoanalyst in around eight years, including
the time spent on personal work. There are a lot of different subjects to
learn in the course, and these are a bit different in different countries,
and maybe also in different States of the US, so if you want to pursue
this you'd maybe be better off checking out your local colleges.

Good luck with your research.

Bobby
