In Southern California (Santa Ana) a large shed in my mothers back yard
contains a colony of spiders. The single web covers much of the inside of the
structure. There are at least 50 spiders (Thin body, light brown, long legs,
overall leg span 2-3 inches, body 1/4 - 1/2 inch) living in this web. I have
seen them feeding on the same insect at the same time. What species are they. I
thought spiders were solitaries, not cooperative.
