hello Justin,
      well this is for the first time i am hearing that type of problem. 
There is no explaination about it except for that may be your burp sounds 
very high, and as the sound coming from your body definately you will be 
hearing that sound clearly & offcource nothing else. Yea justin if this is 
a problem like that when you burp, it totally  gone blank, i mean to say 
that sound is not missing in the burp sound then U BETTER CONSULT A DOCTOR 
for that.
