As long as the ploidy level is even, i.e., 2n, 4n, 6n, etc, meiosis occurs 
as normal.  Triploid organisms are rarely fertile and must be propagated 
asexually.  It is my understanding that potatoes are rarely grown from seed 
 so, triploid potatoes would reproduce asexually.  Check out the following
