Message:

Very few drugs are contraindicated while breast feeding.
But that doesnot mean that Cocaine use and Binge drinking is good for health.
It may have indirect effect on baby.

Supplemental message:

Cocaine may cause intoxication effects on the baby, eventually causing the same
sorts of long term effects as in adult addicts, and should not be used while
breast feeding.
See the FDA report on
breast feeding, section on "Drugs that are NOT safe while nursing."
Also see this publication on Drugs and Medicines in
breast milk.

Here are some more references on how long these chemicals stay in milk and what
they do:

caine.html

cohol.html

In general, street drugs, alcohol and nicotine are to be avoided while breast
feeding. Although many over-the-counter and prescription medicines are safe,
it's best check with a doctor or pharmacist before breast feeding while taking
them. Please be careful, for the sake of your baby!!
