Hi Aaron,

June bugs neither sting nor bite. The vast majority of stinging insects belong to the order Hymenoptera (ants, bees and wasps). June bugs are beetles and therefore belong to the order Coleoptera. Apart from the destruction that can be caused by their subterranean larvae, June bugs are completely harmless to man. In fact they can be a great source of amusement to children who often tie pieces of string to them and play with them.
