I'm interested in the plausibility of the various 50's B-Movie monsters. As
specific examples...

Would a giant amoeba-like blob be possible? Is it an amoeba? Would/could it
subsist on a diet of humans?

Could plants develop intelligence enough to purposefully hunt and kill humans?
Could a creature, human like in every way, have vegetation instead of flesh?

Could radiation mutate creatures immediately, or would it happen over
generations, and if so, how many generations would it take to have, say, a
leech grow to human size and develop arms?

Could a prehistoric creature actually hibernate/be frozen for millennia and
still be alive?

Is human/insect hybridization theoretically possible? Fly head/human body, or
vice versa?

I realize ants (and presumably other insects) could not grow to colossal size
without dying, due to their body structure and the size of their pores.
However, could these problems be fixed by gradual radioactive mutation?

Thank you for your time.
