so bananas turn black in the fridge because of "chilling injury". what exactly 
does that mean and how does the low temperature cause this. i do not need a 
very detailed and complicated answer, simply one that outines what the low 
temperature does to the fruit and therefore explaining why it's skin goes 
black. does this only happen with fruits from the tropics - my apples in the 
frige are fine - is this because they do not require very warm climates to 
grow ?
