Two years of age is a good age to breed the female. She has had time to completely mature. The males can be as young as 6 months of age. I would like to give you a little food for thought before you decide to breed your dogs. Boxers are wonderful dogs and I would imagine you have had lots of people tell you that they would love to have a puppy, but there are lots of lovely dogs on our planet already. Hundreds of thousands of dogs are euthanized (put to death humanely) every year due to the uncontrolled pet population. Maybe you only plan to breed your dogs one time. Let's assume she has a litter of 10 pups. Then we'll assume that only two of the female dogs are not fixed (so they won't have pups). Those two female dogs could produce up to two litters a year. If only two of each of those litters are not fixed, each of those dogs could produce up to two litters of pups per year. So, starting with 2x2 (two of each of the original litter) equals 4 litters a year. Then those 4 dogs could produce 2 litters a year, that equals 8 litters a year. Then those 8 dogs could produce 2 litters a year, that equals 16. Those 16 dogs could then produce two litters a year, and so on and so on. Wow, we're up to 16 x 16 in only three or four years (dogs can have a litter of pups as early as six months of age). Let's assume there are two males that are not fixed. An intact male (one that can get a female pregnant) can breed as many females as there are in heat (ready to be mated and most likely will become pregnant if breed) around him. I can't even guess the incredible number just one male can produce. So remember, you're not just producing one litter of pups when your breeding your dogs. There are several rescue pages on the web just for Boxers. Here's an example of one: http://www.boxerrescue.com/ I hope you will take this reply into serious consideration. http://www.boxerrescue.com/
