The new method of inserting cloned cartilage into specific regions has been practiced for a while according to my understanding. Upon further inquiry I happened upon the knowledge from a orthopedic surgeon that implanting cartilage within the medial aspect or inner area of the tibia is impossible( due to the limitations of current knowledge) because of the specific properties of the environment there. Does this have anything to do with the load bearing requirements of this specific area. What other reasons inhibit cartilage from being implanted there that can be implanted in other locations where degeneration has begun to manifest.
