CFTR stands for Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Regulator protein. It is a
transport protein responsible for the transport of chloride ions across the
apical membranes of epithelial cells in the lung, sweat glands, pancreas,
and other tissues. Patients with cystic fibrosis have a defective CFTR
protein that cannot transport chloride ions.

Good luck with your assignment.
