First, choose what sort of animal you want it to be - then, you can use an
English - Latin translator on the web like
this translator
to come up with the Latin word. Then, add a modifier, but make it SEEM
latin....for example, suppose you want to come up with a latin name for a
whale. The translator will come up with the Latin term, balæna.
Now, you may want to say that it is gray (ravus) or that it is beautiful
(formosus)
so you might have
balaena ravus or
balaena formosus

Or, how about a sea monster? That's cetus....which is close to what we
actually do call whales.

How about a mermaid?
Let's say you want to name it sea woman. Mare femina?

Anyway, you can have lots of fun with this assignment - give it a try!
