i must say that my opinion is a biased one. however, yes i do believe
cloning has important aplications. Right now there are people waiting some
times up to years for transplants, cloning of apendages or organs would
eliminate that kind of wait and possibly save many lives. Cloning could
also play an important role in creating and producing drugs. Most of the
problem people have with genetic engineering are ethical or moral in
origin. However most people seem to only apply these to the cloning of
humans. The cloning of humans is indeed a tough issue, most things can be
grown or produced in animals so there is no need to grow an entire person
just to get one lung, etc. As for cloning deceased people, i would have to
say that it should not be alowed. there is curently a lot of research
being done by scientists with mainly private funding working on this.
Unfortunately for them such research is illegal in the united states.
other than that, i would have to say, you probably shouldnt clone any
extinct animals, just because it doesnt send a good message to the people
of the world, they shouldnt have killed off the species in the first place.
if we could just clone them back in to existance than people would most
likely not care as much about preserving them to begin with. I Hope this
helps.
