Please do not print my question as given; since I am a parent, it is a little 
embarrassing and I certainly wouldn't want my daughter to find out what I have 
written.  I know some High School's place students in internships within 
current industries (i.e. cancer research centers), but without this established 
cooperation between school and business most employeers do not want to risk 
such a liability.  How can my daughter compete for entrance into the best 
schools against students who have had these opportunities?  Thank you!
