Hi Jiezhen Most rabbit's eyes are not red. Those that seem red are probably domesticated forms such as white (albino) rabbits. These have little or no pigment in their skin, fur and eyes and so light hits the retina at the back of their eyes directly. The retina has many blood vessels and therefore looks red. This is the same effect as 'red-eye' that you sometimes get when you take flash photographs of people. I hope that helps Dr David Hubble Leicester, UK
