Hello I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "mechanical revolution counter," but there are several types of devices that mechanically count revolutions. The simplist of these would be a mechanical tachometer, but today these are relatively expensive and hard to come by. Speedometers operate on the same principle as tachometers, so you may be able to use a speedometer as a "mechanical revolution" counter. For these parts you may try an auto salvage yard or auto parts suppler. There are also several inexpensive mechanical counters that could be set up to measure number of revolutions using a simple linkage as shown: ** Linkage * +++++++++++++++++++++* * * * * * * +++*+++ * * + * + * * +++++++ Shaft Counter As the shaft rotates, The linkage moves the counting lever on the counter and causes the counter to advance. As the shaft rotates further, the counting lever resets and starts the cycle over. You will have to experiment to get the linkage the correct length and located in the correct spot on the shaft. These types of counters are inexpensive and can be obtained from American Science and Surlpus or Herbach's on the web. Good Luck
