I am not sure I understand what you mean by 'too hard', particularly in the context of the question. We have a saying here in general medicine when a person tells us: "hey doc, it hurts when I do this" - we say; "don't do that" or "stop doing that". I need to know what you are doing for exercise. Exercises involving repetitive work may cause muscle fatigue, strain and then sprain. Sprain is partially torn muscle bodies and ligament disruption. Also work involving lifting too heavy a load may result in the above. A warning - always give yourself breaks - ie M,W,F for weights and T,Th for stretching and light aerobic (try not to overuse muscles used during M,W,F. Sa or Su can be a rest day, and do something fun and active the other day. I took care of a young man (hospitalized for 2 weeks) several years ago who had lifted weights daily. He had 'torn/broke down' so much muscle tissue without giving it a chance to recover that he literally overwhelmed his kidneys with the 'myoglobin'. He became a bit concerned when his urine turned dark problem and his back was hurting in the mid- back. His mother, possessing more common sense than him, rushed him to the Emergency Dept. The treatment then was massive on going IV hydration to 'flush out' the system and keep the kidneys running.
