Greetings:
I suggest that you obtain the touch/Contact switch kit offered by
Amazon Electronics. The kit is well worth the $9.95 price.
Purchasing the individual components would be considerably more
expensive. You can also purchase a power supply kit for your touch switch.
I often by kits of this sort and them modify them for
my specific projects. You will find that Amazon Electronics has a large
selection of circuits and kits available.

On the following Amazon Electronics web site, search for
SWITCHES and then click on KITS CONTROLLERS

The following text is copied from the Amazon Electronics web site:

Touch / Contact Switch (F) (picture)
Both types of switches are built onto the one PCB so you can
see and explore how each type works. A battery can power the
touch switch (2 contacts) but a power supply (like CPS4) must
be used for the touch plate (1 terminal) to work. High quality
12V relay rated at switching 240V/3A supplied. Uses 14011 IC.
Order Code: CPS10 Price $9.55
