TV signals are radio waves typically in the frequency range of 200 to 500MHz (1MHz = 1 million cycles per second). Each channel is transmitted on a different frequency. The antenna converts these radio waves into an electrical signal, which is sent to the TV. The TV then selects the required channel by ignoring all the signals except the one with the frequency corresponding to that channel.
