Subject: How do a CD laser and a DVD laser differ if at all?

My friends and i are having a bit of a spat online over this very question.  I 
have been told (and tend to agree with my limited physics knowledge) that a DVD 
laser is at a higher (or at least diff. frequency).  My friend seems to think 
that its actually more powerful.  we tried to explain to him that a higher 
frequency doesn't mean more power at all, but he wont listen. Are we wrong, or 
is he?
