Subject: My son asked me how to night crawlers know when it is night and time?

It is fishing season in the North East and in the morning my son can see the 
tell tail evidence of the night crawlers. The small piles of dirt from them all 
over our yard. He asked me when he was real young what they were. And I told 
him they were from night crawlers. Now he want's to know how the know when it 
is night time. And well so do I.
