Recently, I was told that laser light from the Hourglass Nebula would be reaching Earth between 2002-2005 and the color of this light is green. The supernova 1987a is supposed to impact with an outer ring sometime soon and begin heating it up and produce visible results. If this is true, will it affect the atmosphere in any way and what would be the effect of laser light bathing our area of space. Would this be analogous to a photon stream intervening between the light of the Sun and the earth and interfering with the radiation from the Sun that the earth depends on?
