Subject: how does antibiotic effect plants?

I am asking beacause I can't really find the answer anywhere.  And I don't have 
time to actually do it (money constraint).  I already understand that steriods 
are within the plant, but I can't figure out the effects that steriods would 
have on a plant, if introdused to it as a foreign substance.(just placed in the 
grond) Will it kill it, help it, or none of the above.  Please help me!
