I am preparing a lesson for k/1 grade level students on energy and motion
(physical science) using an exercise trampoline and graphing/measuring what
position causes us to jump higher and why. Inquiry and observation are used to
develop conclusion. Each student is given opportunity to jump 5 different ways
on trampoline (students decided together what 5 ways to jump). We measured and
graphed each jump to determine which position made us go higher. My motive was
to allow student to explore abilities of their bodies in motion but I have a
mental block about what specific science objective using energy and motion I am
trying to teach and can't conclude the experiment in good concious without
addressing the specific science objective. Can you help? Thanks.
