Subject: what is the process of DNA polymerase primer synthesis in simple terms?

i ask this question because i am reviewing previous years of study before the 
new year commences. my notes from previous lectures are insufficient on this 
topic and the textbooks i have in my possession do not even cover the basics of 
DNA polymerase primer synthesis. i want to know how and what is needed to 
synthesise the oligonucliotide primers used in the PCR.
