Cold water increases the matabolic activities of the body. Body tries to
maintain its temperature at 37 dec c. Hence, at cold temperature, body
mechanism start working more regorously to produce heat. It may lead to
quivering and increased blood pressure. Prolonged treatment at low
temperature may be fatal for people with cadiac problems. However, it may
happen at very low temperatures only where body fails to fight against the
external problem.
