Has there been an experiment (or calculation) to determine the actual force
required to physically pull an electron from a hydrogen atom. If so, is this
force relative to the force required to pull an object from the earths gravity
(ie, if the proton were the size of the earth and the object had the same
relative mass and distance as the electron).
And on a similiar note: can one of the planets be compared to an electron if
the proton was the size of the sun?
