I am trying to figure out a clean mathematical model for the evaporation of
water off of clothes placed in a vessel to which a vacuum is applied. Any
information about evaporation rates, limits on pressure, or useful equations
would be appreciated. So much changes, it seems I cant get a clean fix on the
system. Ultimately, the question that I am asking is how long it would take
to evaporate all of the water(about 4kg) if you have a vessel of 6 c.ft. with
a vacuum pump with pumping speed of 5 cfm. The link to the pump is here:
http://www.bestechind.com/car_air_conditioning.htm There is no constriction
placed on this process by heat transfer, as I can provide the heat through
conduction or though other means. How long would this likely take, assuming
things are in the real world, not idealized?
