Hi Garrett! I am sorry to hear that you have perthease disease. Coming to your question, plant cell cannot be 'fitted' inside any multicellular member of the Animal Kingdom. The main reason are the basic differences between the two types of cells. One difference (as you have said) is the presence of cell wall. Another difference is the presence of large vacuoles in plant cells whereas it is absent in animal cells. Also there is a major difference when the cells divide (by Mitosis) to produce daughter cells. So you see that cell transplant is not possible. Also there are millions of cells in your epiphysis (this is the affected place on a perthease case) and it is virtually impossible to pick cells and put it else where. The real cause of perthease disease is still unknown but the most accepted theory is that it is caused due to the lack of blood flow to the epiphysis, which is located between the physis and the acetabulum in your knee cap. This actively leads to the growth of the femoral head (ball portion). So due to the interruption of blood supply the ball is unable to grow for sometime and thus the disease. It is recommended that you go to a good doctor who would take a radiograph (X-Ray) of your knee and after deciding which stage (there are 4 stages) of the disease you have will suggest proper remedies. Don't worry, perthease disease is self-curing and towards the end of the third stage it starts healing. Best of luck, From, Abhishek Dey Das. Bholananda National Vidyalaya, Barrackpore.
