Subject: Why, when my mother is 1/2 cantonese, do I have red hair?

My grandmother is cantonese, and my mother I suppose what could be said to be 
half cantonese. (My grandfather was caucasian) My mother has black hair and 
eyes, and also a similar skin tone to my grandmother. Considering this, 
although my father was caucasian, and had mousy-brown hair, and blue eyes, I 
find it quite strange that I have quite red hair, and very pale skin. Could 
you explain to me why this is so?
