MadSci Network: General Biology |
Hi Dan, Your question was actually quite challenging. Since the post you refer to dates from 1996, the person who answered and moderated the question ID #847855291.Zo and their helper, E Lund, would both be difficult to track down and find. I should take this opportunity to apologize on behalf of Mad Scientist Network for this oversight in posting an answer without full references. I wasn't able to find a journal article on fish that could be referenced as Gordon 1977. However, I did find a non-fiction book written by a Bernard Gordon copyright 1977 with the title "The secret lives of fishes". The library catalog entry is: Author Gordon, Bernard L Title The secret lives of fishes / Bernard Ludwig Gordon Published New York : Grosset & Dunlap, c1977 Description xiii, 305 p. : ill. ; 23 cm Note Includes index Note Bibliography: p. 290-295 Subjects Fishes Fishes -- Behavior ISBN 0448116960 : 0448124556 (pbk.) I just found this book (collecting dust) in my university biology library. So there is a good chance that you should be able to find it in your local or university library system. But I must warn you, although this book has a wealth of information on various types of "fishies", I couldn't immediately find where the information referenced in 847855291.Zo came from. The other reference in 847855291.Zo, Moyle and Cech 1982, most probably also refers to a book. The details are: Author Moyle, Peter B Title Fishes : an introduction to ichthyology / Peter B. Moyle, Joseph J. Cech, Jr Published Upper Saddle River, N.J. : Prentice Hall, c1996 Edition 3rd ed Description xvi, 590 p. : ill., maps ; 25 cm Note Includes bibliographical references (p. 529-577) and index Subjects Fishes Ichthyology Other author Cech, Joseph J ISBN 0133729966 As you can see, the latest edition of this book was printed 1996. I hope this helps. Sanjida Rangwala Moderator, MadSci network
