Subject: How do you run a rat though a rat maze??

I am doing a science project and i need to know exactly how to run a rat 
though a maze. I have looked all around the web and around our library but 
nothing tells me exactly the way a scientist would oporate a maze. 
Could you help me? If you know a really good web site that would me great. Or 
if you could give me some tips that would be good too.
