Hello, mo.

Pasta is a complex carbohydrate, giving you 4 calories a gram. The
word "complex" means that it's not a simple sugar. These types take
longer to digest and are more filling than vegetables. That's part of the
reason why one feels hungry shortly after eating at a Chinese restaurant,
assuming you're loading up on veggies. Protein is more filling than
carbohydrates are, probably due to the extra work the body does in
breaking the protein down. Proteins also supply 4 calories a gram.
Protein is usually found combined with fat - as in meat. Fat provides the
greatest amount of satiety. So clearly meat is the winner over pasta or
veggies, because it contains lots of protein and fat. That's why
that "hot off the bone rib steak" is so filling. Fat also provides you
with the most calories, at 9 calories per gram.
Hope that helps,
Peter Bosani.

others?", which I recently answered.
