Subject: what do researchers know about the earliest period of homosapiens appearenc

I was trying to imagine what the interaction between the first homosapiens 
(who must have been these kind of really incredible off shoots (very smart but 
possibly less capable physically)(who knows they may have even been considered 
freaks and banished from many parent species groups) anyway I' d like to know
