I know that calcium carbonate reduces the level of oxygen in water. When goldfish are placed in tap water, there is usally too much oxygen in the water causing an increased resiration rate. It is my belief that when calcium carbonate is added to the water (or maybe withit's food) the oxygen levels will decrease and the goldfish respiration will return to normal. Am I right? Are there any sources you know to back my up? I am havoing problems finding this info. Thanks for your help. I appeciate it!
