I have a quick question about the cecum.

I know that in herbivores (rabbits for instance) the cecum also procceses
cellulose. Are there any documented cases of human ceca doing just the same?

And on a similar line, is it possible to reactivate this function of our ceca
through biological/chemical or genetic means?

Thank you for your time and forgive me for any spelling mistakes I might have
made (especially scientifical terms).
