Copper ions (specifically cupric ions) are often blue in the presence of water; they incorporate water into their solid structure. One especially blue compound is copper sulfate; my guess is that you are forming copper/sulfur/oxygen compounds by the action of your sulfur-rich water with the copper pipe.
