Dylan, The book you're actually looking for is "Rocket Propulsion Elements", 7th edition, ISBN 0471326429. "Rocket Design Fundamentals" is an old title for the book, but it hasn't been used for several editions. I'm sorry that you had a hard time looking for the old title! If you're looking at nozzles, you might also consider "The Rocket Motor", by Maurice J. Zucrow. As always, I must state that I do not recommend compounding or formulating your own propellants: that is a very dangerous procedure that requires special training and safety equipment. Rocket propellants are by their nature toxic, explosive, or both and are not suitable for basement experimentation.
