We want to buy replacements for the Keithley model 169 DMM for use in making DC
measurements of R, V and I in our first semester labs on DC circuits. The
Keithley 169 has been sufficient for our needs except that we want to get
autoranging. Some increase in capabilities (like 51/2 digits instead of 41/2
digits) would be nice but is not required. What autoranging DMM has been
dependable, student-proof and theft resistant in your introductory lab?

We are looking for recommendations regarding Multimeters to be used in a genral
Physics Lab here at our University.
