Hello, I am an undergraduate Physics student at the University of Florida. I am
interested in Fracture Mechanics and Nanotechnology. I am curious as to how
Silica nanowires are able to be stretched to such amazing lengths. I have come
across macroscopic descriptions before but would like to understand plasticity
and fracture in Silica nanowires in terms of bond breaking and formation.
Thank you in advance. -Grace Greenlee
