In the Feb 7, 1997 response to the question: "Who is the first inventor of the pacemake and when", Dr. T VanderVelde of Washington Univ Med Sch in St Louis completely ignored John Hopps of Canada. I believe that John Hopps of Canada is the true first inventor. I am rather annoyed at the not unusual tendency to look only at the United States contributions, is if it was the centre of the universe. I did not see references to the other international contributors to pacemaker development either.
