A couple of times I have purchased pineapple that has hundreds of small black seed-like items in the pulp, located from near the skin to a centimeter or more inside from the skin. With time they get larger. From what I've read on your site, they are probably not seeds, as seeds are few and located near the flower. Please tell me they are not insects, as we have been eating them. They are brownish black, about the size of a half of a grain or rice, in the shape of a slightly curved teardrop. Thank you.
Re: What are the black specks embedded in the pulp of some pineapple?
