Subject: If a dense object was put into a infinitly deep ocean, would it ever stop?

This is a question my eighth grade science class came up with when studying
forces in fluids. We werent sure whether the pressure of the water would
overcome the friction wanting to stop the ball. Or if the pressure all around
the ball would eventually make it be suspended deep in the ocean.
