Every description I read about an electron gun has a "cloud of electrons" being
emitted. Where do these elctrons come from? Assumming they are shed from
atoms, what happens to those atome? Do they acquire replacement electron? On
the other side the surfaces that electrons strike, what happens to those
electrons? Are they absorbed into other atoms? How does that change there
nature?
