Han, Although current meteorologists use instruments as simple as a thermometer to as complicated as a multi-billion dollar satellite, the best observation tool we have is the human eye. Well before we meteorologists had the computers and satellites, weather watchers, farmers, and scientists were observing, recording, and forecasting the weather. NASA has an interesting web site that talks a bit about early weather observations and forecasting. Visit it at: http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Library/WxForecasting/wx.html Ken
